The concept of Blue Zone living is built on research that began with identifying Sardinia as the region of the world with the highest concentration of male centenarians and went on to identify other parts of the globe as places of longevity based on nine lifestyle habits, including healthy eating and healthy relationships with food.

A key part of embracing the Blue Zone lifestyle is to have a 95% – 100% plant-based diet that is rich in a variety of whole foods such as garden vegetables and fruits, whole grains, nuts, beans, legumes, healthy oils and red wine in moderation.
